The Women God Sends

Writing from lived experience and gratitude for the women God faithfully sends.
Several months ago, I joined a Bible study group. Then, not long after, I found myself joining another.
What I didn’t expect was the way God would use these women to anchor me.
Scripture tells us plainly that God often works through faithful women to steady hearts and strengthen lives:
“God is within her; she will not fall.” — Psalm 46:5
These women encouraged me. They held me. They strengthened me. There were evenings when I didn’t feel like going—when exhaustion or doubt whispered that staying home would be easier. But I went anyway, because I knew the Lord had spoken to my heart. And each time, I left reminded that obedience is often met with grace.
As I reflect on these present-day women, my heart is drawn backward—to all the women God has placed in my life across seasons.
I think of Ruth, who stayed when it would have been easier to walk away.
“Where you go, I will go… Your God will be my God.” — Ruth 1:16
God sent women like Ruth into my life during seasons of uncertainty—when I stepped into my first job, when I learned I was pregnant, when I faced the reality of becoming a single mother. Women who stayed. Women who did not abandon me when life felt fragile.
I think of Elizabeth, who recognized God’s work in another woman and spoke life over it.
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!” — Luke 1:45
In moments when I doubted myself, God used women to speak truth—calling out faith when I could barely see it myself.
I think of Hannah, who knew deep anguish, yet brought her brokenness honestly before the Lord.
“In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.” — 1 Samuel 1:10
There were seasons when I was carried quietly—by women who prayed when I had no words, who sat with me without needing to fix anything, who trusted God with me.
As my path led into nursing—Med-Surg, then ICU—God again placed women in my life. Mentors. Teachers. Steady leaders. Women like Deborah, who led with courage and wisdom.
“She held court… and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.” — Judges 4:4–5
These women carried me professionally and spiritually, showing me what faithfulness looked like in work, leadership, and endurance.
I think of Mary, who pondered God’s work quietly and faithfully.
“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” — Luke 2:19
So much of what these women gave me was unseen—prayers whispered, encouragement spoken in passing, strength offered without recognition.
Scripture reminds us that this is not accidental:
“The Lord gives the word; the women who announce the news are a great host.” — Psalm 68:11
Looking back now, I can see it clearly: Jesus Christ worked through them.
Through their presence, He reached me. Through their obedience, He gathered me.Through their faithfulness, He guided me.
Where I was broken, they held me. Where I was weary, they strengthened me.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
This website—this calling—would not exist without that continuous encouragement. From a very young age to now, God has faithfully sent women to walk alongside me, often before I even understood how deeply I needed them.
“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” — Proverbs 31:26
God sends people our way for a reason. Sometimes we recognize it immediately. Sometimes we only understand it years later.
Today, I give thanks—for the women who stayed, who spoke truth, who prayed, who led, who carried, and who allowed God to use them.
Scripture was lived through them. And because of that, I am standing.
