Subjective Findings

  • Regret over past failure.

  • Feelings of shame and disappointment.

  • Fear of not being worthy of God's calling.

  • Desire for restoration.

Objective Findings

  • Boldly declared loyalty to Jesus (Luke 22:33).

  • Wept bitterly after the rooster crowed (Luke 22:62).

  • Returned to fishing (John 21:3).

Spiritual Diagnosis

Primary Diagnosis

Shame and discouragement related to personal failure.

Secondary Diagnosis

Need for forgiveness, restoration, and renewed purpose.

Goal / Expected Outcomes

The believer will:

  • Accept God's forgiveness.

  • Release shame and condemnation.

  • Believe failure does not define identity.

  • Walk confidently in God's calling.

  • Extend grace to others.

Interventions

Intervention #1: Admit Your Failure

Study Scripture

  • Luke 22:54-62

  • Psalm 51

Action

Bring your failures honestly before God.

Reflection

  • What failure do I continue to carry?

  • Have I confessed it to God?

Intervention #2: Receive Christ's Forgiveness

Study Scripture

  • John 21:15-17

  • Romans 8:1

Action

Accept Christ's forgiveness instead of remaining in shame.

Reflection

  • Do I believe Jesus has forgiven me?

  • Am I holding onto guilt that Christ has already removed?

Intervention #3: Leave Condemnation Behind

Study Scripture

  • Philippians 3:13-14

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17

Action

Stop defining yourself by your worst moment.

Reflection

  • What labels have I given myself?

  • What labels has Christ given me instead?

Intervention #4: Return to Your Calling

Study Scripture

  • John 21:15-19

  • Ephesians 2:10

Action

Take the next faithful step God has placed before you.

Reflection

  • Am I allowing past mistakes to keep me from serving?

  • Where is God calling me today?

Intervention #5: Strengthen Others

Study Scripture

  • Luke 22:31-32

  • 1 Peter 5:10

Action

Use your testimony to encourage others who have failed.

Reflection

  • How has God redeemed my story?

  • Who needs encouragement from my experience?

Clinical Pearl

Peter's greatest qualification for ministry was not that he never failed—it was that he experienced the restoring grace of Jesus. The Lord did not discard Peter after his denial. He restored him, recommissioned him, and used him to strengthen the Church.
